The budget process starts each year in September. This year Department Heads were asked to produce two budgets. The first budget was a “Levy Limit” Budget, a budget that could be funded with known or estimated revenues to be received in Fiscal 2009. This budget only allowed for a 1% increase in departmental expense. The second budget was a “Level Service” Budget, which provides for the same level of service to Dennis residents regardless of limitations. Although the “Levy Limit” budget is funded within proposition 2 ½, the “Level Service” budget will require additional revenue of $264, 890. In establishing the Financial Polices the Board established some broad based budget goals related to needs, challenges and opportunities confronting the Town. The Board seeks your input on what areas of concern or ideas you may have during this Fiscal 2009 Budget Process. Please respond to either or both of the following questions:
1. The Board of Selectmen seeks the community’s ideas for the Fiscal 2009 budget. Please give us your ideas on the level of service you would like to see, areas of concern you may have, possible new initiatives or budget goals that may be discussed or implemented during fiscal 2009.
2. The Board of Selectmen seeks resident and employee suggestions and/or efficiencies that may be implemented during the Fiscal 2009 process.

email comments directly to the Assisantant Town Administrator by clicking here!

You will receive an acknowledgement within 48 business hours. Ideas and areas of concern will be forwarded to the Board of Selectmen.
